(“Vision”) for the North American release of the powerful new documentary The Final Round, set to debut on Transactional VOD fittingly on JUNETEENTH (June 17, 2025), with a simultaneous day-and-date release in the UK.

Directed by Lisa Maydwell and Joyce Licorish, and based on the noteworthy book by Maydwell and the late Robert W. Lee, The Final Round presents an intimate and courageous account of one of boxing’s most influential yet misunderstood figures. Produced by Joyce Licorish, written by Lisa Maydwell, and executive produced by Robert Sciglimpaglia, the film chronicles the rise, fall, and redemption of Robert W. Lee—founder of the International Boxing Federation.

DreamEmpire Films, BelAir Productions, and Maydwell Productions have joined forces in a dynamic partnership to bring The Final Round to life—a powerful documentary honoring the legacy of Robert W. Lee. Combining DreamEmpire’s focus on transformative, socially conscious storytelling, BelAir’s commitment to high-quality independent cinema, and Maydwell Productions’ deep connection to the subject matter as co-authors of the source material, this collaboration represents a united vision to amplify underrepresented voices and deliver impactful narratives to a global audience.

Featuring exclusive interviews with Robert W. Lee, Jr., attorney Gerald Krovatin, Henry Hascup, Lynne Carter, former heavyweight champions Riddick Bowe and Michael Spinks, attorney Robert Sciglimpaglia, and the late Shirley Lee, the documentary paints a vivid portrait of a man whose impact on boxing reverberates to this day.
